ISG Computational Biology Core Virtual Workshops – August 2020

The Computational Biology Core within the Institute for Systems Genomics is pleased to announce two virtual workshops in August!

Topic: Virtual RNA-Seq (Non-model)
Date: August 3-6 (4 days)
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: Online
Cost: $300

Day 1: Introduction to Linux, HPC, HTS, and RNA-Seq experimental design
Day 2-4: Non-Model RNA-Seq (de novo transcriptome) Tools Trimmommatic/Trinity/Transdecoder/Kallisto/GFOLD/NOISeq/EnTAP

For anyone with keen interest and desire to develop RNA-Seq analytic skills in systems that do not have a well resolved reference genome.

Topic: Virtual HPC Introduction
Dates: August 17
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: Online
Cost: $50

This workshop is aimed to train new and existing users. The workshop will start with hands on training of Linux and then the participants will be introduced with HPC concepts and will be trained to run interactive sessions, job submission (Batch and Array), job monitoring Running R and python sessions etc.
