Participants will explore the foundations of variant detection, including Linux and high-performance computing (HPC) basics, high-throughput sequencing, reference alignment and quality control, and variant calling models and pipelines such as GATK, Freebayes, and BCFtools. The workshop also covers variant call filtering, comparison, and annotation for downstream analyses.

No prior bioinformatics experience? No problem. This workshop is designed specifically for beginners and starts with the core tools and concepts needed to succeed.
